Noé bekannt durch Menschenfeind und Irreversible hat nach 7 Jahren wieder nen Schößling in den Löchern.

Now living in Tokyo, Oscar sells drugs to survive while Linda (his sister) works as a stripper. Oscar is set-up and betrayed by his friend and fatally shot in a police raid. His spirit, faithful to the promise made with his sister to protect no matter what, struggles to leave the real world. Through the last moments of his life we see him leave his body and oversee everything happening simultaneously in the lives of his sister Linda and his friends. Past, present and future mix in a hallucinatory maelstrom that becomes increasingly psychedelic and nightmarish.

Enter the Void was an exhausting film to make, Noé says. He did extensive research into near-death experiences, astral projection and chemically-induced hallucinations; he pored over the Tibetan Book of the Dead. Then there was an immensely complex shoot, and an even more complicated post-production process: the film boasts special effects from Pierre Buffin, whose credits include Spider-Man 3 and Alexander.

hat soeben premiere in cannes. wir warten allerdings noch. es wird von einem der meisterlichsten filme 2009 gesprochen. bis wir wissen ob das stimmt sieht er zumindest schon mal klasse aus. mit noch 2 1/2 stunden spielzeit, dürfte der aber noch mal zusammengeschrumpft werden. hier die homepage http://www.soudainlevide.com/

der film ist jetzt in seiner endgültigen schnittfassung und lief auch bei ein paar anderen festivals. hier ein paar auszüge aus kritiken

I found the entire experience ceaselessly mesmerizing and thought provoking. The freedom that the floating soul perspective provided immersed me so deeply. In fact, I was so hypnotized by the whole thing that when the film ended I felt extremely disabled being back in reality, no longer able to fly and float through walls. [...] I would have liked to stayed in that movie for the rest of my life. But to be honest, it's quite possible I might have gotten a little bored had that movie gone on for 20-30 hours longer than it did.

Words can seriously not describe the visually rich and assaulting epic tale of death and its aftermath of memories and spiritual travel that is Gaspar Noés Enter the Void. Self-proclaimed as weird by the director himself at its World Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, (the print screened at Cannes was a work-in-progress), he says his attempt was to create a near death experience on film. So, with stunning imagery; fullscreen frames of solid bright color pulsating at epileptic seizure-inducing rates; extended moments of seamless cutting to make long passages appear to be one take; first person camera-work spliced from straight shots merging into fish-eye lens distortion; extreme close-ups, either computer generated or otherwise, appearing as though a fly filmed the entire thing while in flight; and just the maze-like electricity of downtown Tokyo at night, one must actually sit down and experience it, letting it wash over you, to fully appreciate the work. There is so much to absolutely love as a cinephile here. [...] You become Oscar, transported into the movie to live through the chaos and turmoil. Im liking the movie more and more as I write this essay, reliving the scenes and remembering how they grabbed me and threw me around ¦ and yet I still dont know if Ill ever want to”or have the chance to”see it again. Do not expect this thing hitting a local multiplex any time in the near future; its subject matter going way beyond your regular NC-17 flick.

was man so liest, auch wenn die kaum vorhandene story und schauspieler oft kritisiert werden, wird stets von einer absolut genialen und innovativen cinematografie berichtet, und der film als erfahrung, welche eine überwältigende sei. nichts dass das viel bedeuten müsse, aber anhand der abgefahrenen reviews die ich die letze halbe stunde gelesen hab, steigen meine erwartungen ins endlose. ich muss den film einfach sehen, das ist mit a serious man und avatar mein heiß ersehntester film!

Die Opening Credits für den Film. Was langweilig klingt, ist in diesem Fall ein höllisch abgedrehtes Gefährt. Entweder total geil oder total krank. Kopfschmerzen garantiert und jetzt stelle man sich das riesengroß in einem dunklen Kino vor mit entsprechender Soundausstattung. Noe experimentiert ja gerne, aber das ist echt schrill. Und ich finds ziemlich geil.

Schonmal was von Arthaus- oder Programmkinos gehört, oder versteh ich dich jetzt falsch?

meinste nicht? irreversible hats ja auch hier her geschafft. ich bin eigentlich fest davon überzeugt, dass der hier irgendwo läuft, scheint ja ne große nummer zu werden. nicht für viele, aber für wenige sehr

Das "meinste nicht?" bezieht sich dann aber auch auf Dwight, nehme ich an, denn Gonzo erklärt ja, dass der Film in solchen Kinos sehr wahrscheinlich zu sehen sein wird. "ETV" hat zwar noch nicht den Status eines "Irreversibel", da fehlen vielleicht noch ein paar größere Festivalreaktionen, aber der dürfte hier und da schon im Kino zu erwischen sein. Und da ich in meiner Kinostadt gleich zwei Kinos für "Spezielle Filme" habe, bin ich aktuell eigentlich bei fast allen Filmen recht zuversichtlich.

ja dwight war gemeint, hatte das antwort fenster zu lang offen, so dass sich gonzo dazwischen schieben konnte

wie ich das mitbekommen habe, hatte "ETV" nen weit besseren empfang und abgesehen von den "skandal-stunts" auch weit bessere publicity von kritikern.

Durchaus möglich, aber so ein Skandal, ob gewollt oder nicht, ist für PR in der Regel durchaus nützlich. Irreversibel war bekannter, will ich damit sagen.

ja das stimmt schon aber der film wird über die zeit sicher noch genügend belohnt werden. wenn der wirklich so ist wie alle sagen spricht sich das rum
