Sony: John Williams - Star Wars Ultimate Soundtrack Collection Box-Sets (CDs, Vinyls, Downloads)

Early next year, Sony Music Classical will release the original soundtracks of Star Wars Episodes I – VI in new extensive deluxe vinyl and CD box sets.

Star Wars: The Ultimate Vinyl Collection will be an 11LP box and includes each of John Williams’ six film soundtracks from Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace to Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi in deluxe gatefold sleeves faithfully replicating the original artwork.

The audio for these was transferred from the original masters using the highest resolution (up to 192kHz/24bit) and pressed on 180gram vinyl. The records come in a black, soft-touch laminated slipcase with an embossed, hot silver foil Star Wars logo and includes a digital download card for one complete box set (all six soundtracks). This is the first time all six Star Wars original soundtracks have been available on vinyl in one complete box set.

If vinyl isn’t your thing, then there will also be an CD version of the Star Wars: The Ultimate Soundtrack Collection that contains 10 CDs and a DVD.

The six soundtracks are on nine CDs and packaged in mini-LP CD album jackets and there is a bonus CD featuring a new audio interview with Harrison Ford and an interview with John Williams. The DVD, Star Wars: A Musical Journey, is a one hour special hosted by actor Ian McDiarmid (Chancellor Palpatine) highlighting select musical themes alongside key sequences from the films. This set also comes with a fold-out poster and three collectable stickers.

Star Wars: The Ultimate Vinyl/Soundtrack Collection box sets will be released on 8 January 2016.

Genauso wie die Beatles Vinylbox.

Habe die Soundtracks von Episode 5 und 6 bereits auf Vinyl, gebraucht gekauft und zusammen sicher nicht mehr als 15€ dafür gezahlt. Ich glaube die gibts auch wie Sand am Meer. Muss nicht immer die Neuauflage sein, auch wenn die hier natürlich auf 180g Vinyl wären (Was aber auch nicht zwingend besser sein muss) und die Soundtracks von Episode 2 und 3 wahrscheinlich noch nicht auf Vinyl veröffentlicht wurden.

Du machst Witze? Allein für das franz. Vinyl von Star Wars habe ich 30€ bezahlt.

Du machst Witze?

Nö. Vielleicht ist die Vinyl vom "ersten" Star Wars etwas seltener als die der Forsetzungen, oder vielleicht auch nur die französische Pressung. Auf jeden Fall habe ich die zu 5 und 6 recht günstig auf dem Flohmarkt, bzw. im Plattenladen erstanden.
