"Sicario" führte ein in die Welt, der geplante "Soldado" macht weiter. Nun ist klar, damit soll aber nicht Schluss sein, denn ein dritter Film aus der Welt um Drogen, Killer und Kartelle soll folgen. Genau wie Teil 2, soll es kein richtiges Sequel sein, sondern eher ein allein stehender Film, in dem die selben Figuren vorkommen. Für Teil 2 sind das ja Benicio del Toro und Josh Brolin, aber eben nicht Emily Blunt. Der Plan seien drei Anthology-Filme mit einigen Kernfiguren, in der selben Welt, sagte Teil 2 Regisseur Stefano Sollima. Vermutlich auch getippt von Taylor Sheridan, der bereits "Sicario" und "Soldado" verfasst hat.
