Wer Nightmare before Christmas mag, der kann sich auch getröst mal Corspe Bride anschauen. Den fande ich sogar noch besser! Burton Filme sind alle so schön skuril.

Der Film ist nach wie vor eine einzige Augenweide. Ein noch pureres, konzentriertes Burtondesign findet man wirklich nirgends in der Form. Lustigerweiße ist der Film dann nicht von Burton gedreht, aber dafür stammt ja sonst beinahe alles Ausschlaggebende von ihm.

Ein Film der gleichzeitig düster, makaber, schwarzhumorig, als auch bunt und kitschig ist - Das schafft in der Form nur Burton, der mit Jack Skellington nicht nur eine Kultfigur, sondern auch einen tollen und interessanten Hauptcharakter geschaffen hat, der, wenn man es recht bedenkt, wirklich Tiefe hat. Er ist nämlich nicht der Bösewicht der Weihnachten kaputt machen will - Wie der Grinch, er will nur Freude verbreiten und Weihnachten auf seine Art gut machen - Die Geschichte eines missverstandenen Monsters, einer der Kern- als auch Inspirationspunkte Burtons.

Vom visuellen her natürlich auch eine Augenweide, auch wenns nicht stylisch oder konventionell ist. Abgedrehtes Charakterdesign und detailverliebte, großartig gestaltete Sets sowie wunderbare Stop-Motion-Animation, die einfach zum Film passt wie zu kaum einem anderen. Unvorstellbar hätte man den Film mit Zeichentrick oder CGI gemacht, es wäre niemals das geworden was es jetzt wäre. Dazu großartige Musik und Songs.
