Drehbuchautor Drew Pearce (Iron Man 3, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation) hat das Skript fertig, Inhalt streng Geheim, aber mit einer gigantischen Idee darin und Sony will seines Wissens nach weiter Chris Pratt und Channing Tatum hierfür. Spiele weiter im selben Universum wie der Film von Feig.
“I’ve finished my work on that in the last couple weeks. Obviously it’s top secret, but there’s a gigantic bold idea that I came up with, and the Russo brothers — who did Captain America: The Winter Soldier and are doing Civil War at the moment — and Ivan Reitman, who did the original movie, are going to take that and run with it. Obviously I cannot tell you what it is, but hopefully in one year’s time you’ll know!”
“That’s definitely the cast we’ve been thinking about as we approach the project. Whether that happens or not is very much above my pay grade. It’s just my job to give them something exciting that maybe they’ll do.”
“My personal inclination is to try and make everything occur in the same Ghostbusters universe, because I feel, as a fan, that’s what I would want. Here in New York, you just wanna tie it all together. Whether that happens or not we’ll see, but I’ve certainly given them the tools to do that, I hope.”

Da zeigt sich wahrscheinlich einfach nur, dass Fan ≠ Fan.
Der eine ist Fan, weil ein bestimmmtes Team eine bestimmte Art von Humor rübergebracht hat. Währenddessen ist jemand anderes scheinbar einfach nur Fan der Idee eines Teams, dass Geister jagt und einsperrt.

Würde mir wohl wahrscheinlich besser gefallen als das kommende Remake auch wenn von dem nicht mal der Trailer raus ist...
Aber so richtig passend ist das auch nicht, Tatum und Patt finde ich beide sympatisch und sie haben auch comedy Talent, sind aber beide typische Hollywood Posterboys und passen für mich nicht als Ghostbusters. Wieso muss man sich denn soweit vom Original entfernen?
Erst diese weiber Ghostbusters und dann gehen die beiden durchtrainierten schönlinge im Muskelshirt auf Geisterjagt? Nee, gefällt mir absolut nicht was die aus dem Franchise machen.

Vorhin noch gelesen (Quelle grad nicht zur Hand) dass Drew Pearce in seinem Entwurf auf eine gemischtes Team aus Männern und Frauen setzt.
Nun dementiert Produzent Ivan Reitman aber jedweden weiteren geplanten Ghostbusters außer den aktuell von Paul Feig inszenierten.
“There has been a lot of excitement recently about what is happening with the ‘Ghostbusters’ franchise,” ... “As the producer of the new ‘Ghostbusters’ film, I feel the need to clarify. There is only one new ‘Ghostbusters’ movie and that is the Paul Feig directed version coming next July, presently filming and going fantastically. The rest is just noise.”
Ach ja, im März sagte Reitman noch das: "We want to expand the Ghostbusters universe in ways that will include different films, TV shows, merchandise, all things that are part of modern filmed entertainment. This is a branded entertainment, a scary supernatural premise mixed with comedy. Paul Feig’s film will be the first version of that, shooting in June to come out in July, 2016. He’s got four of the funniest women in the world, and there will be other surprises to come. The second film has a wonderful idea that builds on that. Drew will start writing and the hope is to be ready for the Russo Brothers’ next window next summer to shoot, with the movie coming out the following year. It’s just the beginning of what I hope will be a lot of wonderful movies."

Die Russos zum Status: "There is no status with that for us. There was a period there when Paul Feig was engaging Sony in talks about Ghostbusters and we were also engaging them. He was further along with his process than we were and he closed his deal so that’s the only Ghostbusters world that’s being explored right now over at Sony. Once we took Infinity War it too us off the table for any kind of any potential work on a Ghostbusters project."

Also demnach nicht mehr aktuell für die Herren, da Feig schneller und weiter war mit seinem Vorstoß bei Sony. Und die Russos haben demnächst genug mit Avengers zu tun.
