Frankenweenie [Kritik] ~ Tim Burton

Einige Sprechrollen wurden bekanntgegeben. Johnny Depp ist zwar noch nicht dabei, dafür aber ein paar andere alte Bekannte Burtons wie Winona Ryder (Edward mit den Scherenhänden), Martin Landau (Ed Wood), Catherine O'Hara (Beetlejuice) und Martin Short (Mars Attacks).
Ryder und Landau sollen dabei die beiden neuen Charaktere Elsa and Mr. Rzykruski sprechen, während O'Hara und Short mehrere Rollen sprechen sollen, darunter auch die von Victor's Eltern.

Hab das heute morgen schon gelesen und ich bin begeistert. Die Namen lesen sich klasse und es wurde Zeit das Burton wieder mit Winona Ryder zusammenarbeitet. :super:

Und ich denke auch nicht, dass Johnny Depp und Helena Bonham Carter noch zum Cast stoßen werden. Kanns mir zumindest nicht vorstellen.

Burton spricht ein klein wenig über den Film, der immernoch in einem ultrafrühen Stadium ist.

MTV: Have you started shooting "Frankenweenie"?

Burton: We just started a couple of shots. It's good. We've got a pretty low budget, but I'm excited about it. We've got a couple of shots that are done. Yeah, it's just starting. It's great.

MTV: Is it exciting to revisit that story?

Burton: We're changing it a little bit. I wouldn't do it if it felt like it was just doing the same thing. For me, it's about trying to go back to the original drawings and kind of capture that spirit a little bit more of what the drawings are. It feels different even though it's a similar story, but we're kind of expanding it a bit.

Falls gesungen wird, hoffe ich auf bessere Songs als bei Corpse Bride, Nightmare war da mMn doch deutlich besser.

Ist zwar einerseits doof, dass es jetzt so spät wird, aber einen Herbststart finde ich ansonsten viel besser. Und vielleicht gibt es zum Ausgleich ja auch Dark Shadows Anfang des Jahres.

Außerdem ein paar Produktionsnotizen. Nichts spektakuläres, aber dafür die offizielle Bestätigung, dass der Film in Schwarz/Weiß kommt, was absolut großartig ist. :super:

* · When Tim Burton originally conceived the idea for Frankenweenie, he envisioned it as a full-length, stop-motion animated film. Due to budget constraints, he instead directed it as a live-action short, released in 1984.
* · Frankenweenie follows in the footsteps of Tim Burtons other stop-motion animated films Corpse Bride and The Nightmare Before Christmas”both of which were nominated for Academy Awards®.
* · Over 200 puppets and sets were created for the film.

Was haut dich denn da so aus den Socken? Sieht okay aus, mehr aber irgendwie auch nicht mehr. Bild 9 finde ich noch am interessantesten.

Ja, der Stil ist ganz gut, aber nichts weltbewegendes in meinen Augen.

Ich weiß nicht, ich finds einfach toll, weil das schon sehr in die Richtung geht, wie ich mir das gewünscht habe. Also Edward Scisshorhands-mäßige Vorstdat, kalifornisches Flair, aber anders als im Kurzfilm. Und die leerstehende, heruntergekommene Windmühle ist auch super. Ich kanns nicht wirklich erklären, es trift einfach voll meinen Geschmack und meine Erwartungen an den Film.

Gerade entdeckt: Zwei Bilder von Figuren, die gerade in der Burton-Austellung in Los Angeles ausgestellt sind. Beides sind Charaktere aus Frankenweenie. Ob die im Film so aussehen werden, ist natürlich ne andere Frage (Figuren, die zum filmen benutzt werden, sind es auf jedenfall nicht):
